    Wat Matchimawat (Wat Klang) is one of the most important temples in Songkhla. The temple is more than 400 years old and was built at the end of the Ayutthaya period. MICE travellers will get a chance to see many fascinating archaeological sites, including the Ubosot which was built during the reign of King Rama I which featured beautiful Thai-Chinese architecture. The murals also remain in perfect condition. The temple grounds also include the Pattarasilp Museum which houses many antiques found uniquely at the south of Thailand.

    Visit the Folklore Museum at the Thaksin Institute of Education, a museum that focusses on the culture, heritage, local wisdom, archaeological history, and arts and crafts of southern Thailand. It’s also a great to take in the stunning scenery of Koh Yo including the beautiful view of Tinsulanonda Bridge which connects Koh Yo to the mainland.

    Learn all about how the beautiful fabrics at Koh Yo are woven and the skill that has been passed down for more than 100 years. It was during the reign of King Rama V that His Majesty King Chulalongkorn travelled to Songkhla and the Malay Peninsula and bestowed the name ‘rajawat’ to the pattern of the woven fabric, and remains its name to this day. There are a number of woven designs that are called rajawat patterns and they make the perfect gift for MICE travellers to take home.
